Philter One

PII redaction in a box, in your office. Philter One is a small computer that comes set up to find and redact personal information in your documents, with a review step so a person checks every redaction. It runs on your own network, so your documents stay with you.

How it works

  1. Plug it in. Connect Philter One to your office network. It comes set up, with nothing to install.
  2. Add your documents. Upload PDF and Word files from any computer in the office, in a web browser.
  3. Review the redactions. Check each proposed redaction, change it or add any that were missed, and approve the document.
  4. Download the redacted copy. Save a redacted PDF to share. The original stays on the box.

Your documents stay in your office

Philter One runs on your own network. Documents are processed on the box, not sent to an outside service, which helps you keep patient and client information where it belongs.

Human-in-the-loop reviews

Automatic detection is probabilistic: it finds most personal information, not all of it. So Philter One is built around review. Your staff see each proposed redaction, accept or change it, and add anything it missed before a redacted copy is produced.

Questions

When will Philter One be available? We are targeting the first half of 2027. It is in development, and the answers on this page help decide what the first version includes.

How much will it cost? Pricing is not set yet. Philter One will be a one-time purchase, with optional annual updates, and people on the list will get an early access discount.

Will my documents leave my office? Philter One is designed to run entirely on your own network, without sending documents to an outside service.

Will it catch everything? No redaction tool can promise that. Detection is probabilistic, which is why every document goes through a person’s review before it is finalized. You remain responsible for checking the results on your own documents.

What happens to what I enter here? We use your answers to plan Philter One, and we’ll email you about it, including when it is available.
